Is it snowing where you live? Winter is on the horizon and as the end of the year approaches we wish to send a very warm and large THANK YOU to each of you for being dedicated NST members, year after year, day after day and every minute!

There have been THREE special merchandise opportunities opened to ALL members recently. Thanks for purchasing Nelson note card sets, and the 2012 Nelson Calendar!! We also wish to thank the members and fans for contributing photographs for this project, and everyone who ordered one, during the NST pre-order. Great way to begin 2012 with a Nelson Calendar!!

If you would like to purchase another calendar this is your chance! We are offering the wall, poster and desk calendar once more to ALL members!! You will be able to purchase one of each calendar that you have not already ordered. So if you ordered a Wall calendar, but would like to order one Poster & one Desk also please send your request to us at: NSTfanclub@yahoo.com stating which calendar you would like.

Did you enjoy ordering a copy of the NEW Nelson CD – Ricky Nelson Remembered? We are sure you will agree this is an awesome collection to own!!! 25 copies went to the first team members to e-mail us! Last month the team started monthly chats. Thanks to the members who supported this change by coming to chat. We had a GREAT time catching up and playing Nelson trivia!

Due to the Labor Day holiday there will be no chat in September.

Since we are busy making a team transition to a complete digital online package during the next several months, there will no longer be any monthly chats for the rest of 2011. We know you loved the chats and we have truly loved chatting with you!! NST chats are coming BACK!! The chats will resume in January 2012 when the new digital online package is announced. Again, sign up for the mailing list to be informed when the package is ready (and chat is coming back), or stay up to date by purchasing the current online package now when your membership expires.

We know that many of you are disappointed that NST reward points will no longer be accumulated. Please accept our THANKS for the hard work you have put in to earn these points and rewards! Your efforts are greatly appreciated and to show our appreciation, we will be reviewing each members’ point totals and if you are close to earning a reward you will be automatically awarded the reward (and you don’t have to work hard anymore for it!) How awesome is that? Please note that reviewing the points will take time, so we ask for your patience. All members who are receiving a reward will be contacted. Thanks so much for understanding!

Charity Projects:

Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Summer Hungerthon! We spent two months helping to put an end to hunger in local communities all over the world. Whether you were able to participate in an event, volunteer or simply sent us information for a food donation location, you made a difference!! THANKS!

Spring flew by, didn’t it? Now it is almost time for the Summer NST Newsletter! The newsletter is scheduled to be released this month.

A change is coming to the NST weekly team chats. We have loved chatting with each of you every Sunday night, it is a very special time of the week to catch up and share the latest team happenings! However, with the increase of Official Nelson chat rooms that are available 24/7, where any member or fan can go in to chat whenever they want to and schedule permits, the NST weekly chats will now move to a NST monthly chat, starting August 7th. The monthly chat will allow us to catch you up on team happenings, play trivia and center around the NST! It will be held on the first Sunday night of each month at 9:00 p.m. EST, in AIM/AOL messenger chat room.

It is our hope that this change will allow you more time to chat in the official rooms, and meet other fans who may like to join the NST.

As many of you have heard, beginning August 1st, BACKSTAGE (the exclusive nelson membership website) will no longer be available to Nelson fans. We thank all fans who joined this website and were a special part of it from the start!

The good news is that ALL inspirations, musings, along with World of Nelson will be moved to a special password protected area of the official NST site. This move will enable NST members to have access to this special area, which now will be exclusive to the NST and included in a special membership package. Look for more info on packages and the move to the NST soon!

A reminder that if you are currently a member of BACKSTAGE and have your credit card setup on automatic renewal you may want to go ahead and stop all future payments now, as there will be no more updates during the move to the NST website. If your credit card auto renewal is not stopped, then after August 1st, there will be no refunds. So please be sure to check your records.

How the NST is “making a difference”:

Thanks to our members for continuing to support the relief efforts in Japan throughout May! Your donations were very much appreciated.

NST members have also been supporting relief efforts in the areas hit the hardest by the recent tornados in the U.S.A., several NST members were affected by these storms. Thanks for all the help!!

Today begins the official NST Hungerthon!! We have an incredible list started of community food banks, donation centers, and other ways to get out there to help! The list is available at the NST website & NST Yahoo! Group.

A special e-mail will be sent out today outlining the entire project which will end on August 1st. All the tools needed to get started will be included. Be sure to check your inboxes!! And THANK YOU for all your help!

NST member Jennifer Mykleby will be taking part in a special charity event on March 5th, 2011. Jennifer will be participating in athletes of Special Olympics Minnesota by taking part in the Minneapolis Polar Bear Plunge.

Even if you cannot join Jennifer in the event, you can help by making a donation to Special Olympics Minnesota on behalf of Jennifer taking the Plunge, and help her reach the personal fundraising goal she has set!

Welcome to 2011 NST!!

It is SO great to enter a new year with all of our fellow team members! With NEW Nelson music to promote, shows to attend, promoting “missions” and monthly charity projects this year is a going to be BIG!
