I became a Nelson fan back in 1990 when I first heard Love and Affection on the radio.  Who could miss them?  They were colorful, positive, intellectual, had great harmonies, and were inspirational to those of us in our awkward high school years.  I love how their music has evolved over the years and it is very difficult for me to even name one favorite song as each one is able to take me back to a specific time in my life, and will undoubtedly do so going forward.

Nelson comes from a line of talented musicians, and sometimes I have to pause when I realize I come from a line of Nelson music fans!  My grandmother had the opportunity to attend an Ozzie Nelson big band show in Philadelphia many years ago and my mom saw Rick Nelson perform at Atlantic City's famous Steel Pier.  In fact, several years ago, my grandmom, mom and I had a very special and rare opportunity to sit together at a live Nelson show at Epcot.  That was an irreplaceable memory and a testament to the Nelson Family Phenomenon.

Being a part of the NST has taken the fan in me to a different level by allowing me to give back to Nelson through promotion as well as philanthropy.  They have kind and compassionate hearts - something that we all can and should learn from - as well as are extremely talented.  My hope is that the Nelson music will touch many more future generations as it has my family, and remind everyone that music is something that can be felt and appreciated.  But for now, I just dig cranking up the stereo and living in the moment!
