"I've
been warming up with Gunnar and Matthew Nelson to the point where I'm singing
their songs in my sleep. I ran into them moments before they took the stage
a few minutes ago, and had to join in again. So as I heard them on stage
singing the song I'd just been singing the high part to, I asked Keith,
"Should I run out there and sing with them?" It was a rhetorical question.
I made it just in just in time to sing the chorus. By the way, I have heard
the new Nelson CD, still being finished but complete enough to really tell
the story. It's a treat to see and hear these same guys who enjoyed such
success back in the days of the big haired rock godz, now unapologetically
writing and recording an album that shows you how they have grown and matured
and still have many chapters left in the Nelson story. If you've been here
you know that they are singing and playing better than ever and are every
bit the great touring mates we predicted they would be." |

Hi
Everyone!
I can't believe how blessed I feel to be on this tour right now with Styx and Peter Frampton. These guys are my heroes... they've been for years. The Paradise Theatre album truly shaped the future vocal sound of NELSON, and the After The Rain album wouldn't be remotely the same with out their influence. But you know what the greatest thing of all about this tour is? It's that these legendary musicians and writers are true gentlemen... in the best sense of the word. They are full of integrity - they are kind, funny, and CLASSY... and they're treating us like gold. Tommy, JY, and the rest of the team are treating us like brothers. Tommy's voice is truly incredible... and JY's solo on the outro of Grand Illusion makes me want to run to the woodshed and practice for hours. (It's not uncommon to find me in the pit rockin' out to their set every night with the rest of the fans!) For the record, the show is WONDERFUL. Please do yourself a huge favor and come check it out while you've got the chance. I wish this tour would never end. There's nothing we wouldn't do for these guys. I'm sure when you see them make their magic, and get to know them as we do, you'll feel the same. See you on tour! Gun |
