I was Matthew’s personal assistant at the Mohegan Sun on March 25th 2005.  I want to first Thank Matthew, Gunnar and Tami for allowing me to participate.  The show was awesome.  So much energy and love from them both.  Honestly, if that is work, I would gladly do it everyday.  It was too much fun to classify as work.  I was a little scared at first, but once I met Matthew and the sound check started that quickly faded.  Matthew, Gunnar and Tami were great and they made me feel very welcome.  Gunnar’s assistant, Jackie, and I were responsible for the placing of the set list, water and towels on stage and we escorted them throughout the evening.  I have a new found respect for them and all that goes into a show.  All of the instruments that have to be set up and tuning everything together to get that wonderful sound they deliver to us.  Everyone behind the scenes plays an important part also and Mark from the Mohegan Sun staff was great.  He helped us to stay on track and to get Matthew and Gunnar were they needed to be and when they needed to be there. Once the show starts they are continuously on the move.  It’s amazing how it just all falls into place.  They make it look so easy.  I would highly recommend becoming an assistant if you get the opportunity.  I would gladly do this again.  I was really sad to see the evening end but alas I had to return home as did they; however, I will always have the memories.
