Friday, January 27, I had the privilege of being Gunnar’s Personal Assistant.  It was an awesome experience unlike any other.  (I know I have said that before, but no two experiences are the same.)  The experience truly does get better each time.

I met up with everyone at sound check and right away Gunnar put me to work.  Once the task was completed, I took pictures of the guys during sound check and met Matthew’s PA, Rhonda Philips.

When sound check was finally over, Tami showed us around the backstage area and introduced us to Mark, a staff member at the Mohegan.  Mark helped us out with our duties that night.

The next duty was helping the guys with the set list.  Rhonda and I requested some songs and then Matthew went to work writing it out.

With the set list finished and being copied, Mark, Rhonda, and I escorted Matthew and Gunnar to the hotel lobby via an underground route, so they could go back to their rooms and get ready for the show.  We agreed to meet them in the lobby in about an hour and the three of us walked back to the Wolf Den to perform another PA duty, which is taping the set list by everyone’s station and making sure that everyone has water and towels.

Before we knew it, it was time to get the guys and escort them back to the Wolf Den.  Once we all arrived backstage, Rhonda and I took our seats to get ready for an awesome, energetic show.  It was truly a great show and it was wonderful to see Gunnar up front with Matthew playing guitar.  Gunnar really seemed to enjoy it and so did we.

I had a cute, little surprise during the show.  Before the guys played “Try My Love”, which was one of the songs I requested to be on the set list, Matthew dedicated it to me.  I was totally surprised and felt greatly appreciated.

As with every show, it ended too soon.  Rhonda and I went backstage to escort the guys to the Meet and Greet table.  During this time, Rhonda and I took turns taking pictures of fans with the guys and helping Tami sell merchandise.

When the Meet and Greet was over, we packed up and went backstage for pictures and to have some items signed.  Before the night was over, both Matthew and Gunnar thanked us for assisting them.

Being a Personal Assistant is an awesome opportunity and a very memorable experience and just like all of the other times, an experience I will never forget.  Tami, Gunnar, and Matthew are a pleasure to work for and hang out with and they make the hard work fun.  I know I have said this before, but it is worth saying it again.  I would do it again in a heartbeat.
