Saturday August 13th 2005 was a day I’ll always remember. My friend Helen and I were Matthew’s PA. It took 2 ½ hours to drive from San Jose to the Sacramento State Fair for Helen and myself to have the experience of a lifetime.

Tami was fantastic. We met her at the hotel and she immediately put us at ease. Matthew and Gunnar had not arrived yet, so Tami asked us to meet back in 1 hour. One hour later Tami introduced us to Matthew and Gunnar. Both of them make you feel comfortable and have a great sense of humor.

We traveled with Matthew and Gunnar and their band by van to the fair for sound check. It was interesting watching them prepare for the sound check. Now I know what goes on before the show and the preparations that it takes to get everything in place for each show. After sound check, we returned to the hotel so Matthew and Gunnar could get ready for the show.

On the way back to the fair I sat with Matthew and helped him put together the set list. The band helped put in suggestions for songs as well. Later, Matthew put the final touches on the list. Helen and I helped Tami take the merchandise to the stand so she could set up the items. The stand was small and there wasn’t much room to move, so Helen and I ran back and forth to the dressing room to take items to the twins.

The show was totally awesome as usual. I could sit and watch the twins sing for hours. Their shows always fly by to fast. Poor Gunnar was left in the dark the whole time! Matthew motioned to the lighting crew to put some light on Gunnar, but to no avail he was left in the dark. They sang mostly their father’s songs, as it was a tribute to their father. The audience loved them so much.

After the show Helen and I escorted Matthew and Gunnar to the merchandise stand for their meet and greet. The line was HUGE! So many people wanted to meet the twins. While they signed autographs and posed for pictures with old fans and new ones, we sold cds to the people waiting in line. The people had lots of questions about the twins and Helen and I tried to answer as many as we could. We felt important as we escorted Matthew and Gunnar to and from the meet and greet. At the end of the night there were fire works.

Backstage after the meet and greet, Matthew and Gunnar signed some of our merchandise that we brought along. I brought a copy of the RED37 cd for Matthew to sign and he was happy to see it. We took pictures with the twins as well.

Everyone should have the experience of being a PA for the twins. I’d do it again for sure.
